7:00pm - 11:00pm: The Time Travelers’ Ball at the Odd Fellows Lodge, 267 East Main Street, Hillsboro, OR
The Time Travelers’ Ball and Exposition 2012: Ages of Exploration has landed! Sword fighting, English country dancing, blacksmithing, pirates, and spacesuits will share space in an all-eras event to benefit the Hillsboro Historical Society.
Come out for shopping, demonstrations, presentations, displays, entertainments, costumes, music, and more!
Attractions: The Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum will be there with kid-sized spacesuits, pneumatic rockets, and a presentation on the history of flight.The founders of the Portland Pirate Festival will talk about their restoration of the tall ship Royaliste.
Academia Duellatoria will offer classes on sword fighting, cane fighting, and Bartitsu.
Red Troll Forge will demonstrate swordsmithing and other blacksmithing work.
Plus, there will be presentations on the mysteries of lost explorers and the women of the Bodyguard in the British suffragist movement; displays on the history of costuming, pewter work, and enamel work; dance classes; live music; historical hairstyling and more.
