GThe historic Hollywood Theatre is excited to be teaming with the Alamo Drafthouse to present Computer Errors: The Worst CGI in Movie History. No explanation necessary but here is one anyways.

Alamo has packed this program with the worst computer generated abominations cinema has ever seen. Back in the day the film industry made up their own awesome effects and stunts to make something special. Now it’s all computers and junk and it’s time to take a stand against the war on movie magic. What are you in for? We’ll sum it up with this quote from Alamo: “...prepare yourself for a brutal barrage of twisters, scorpion kings, sharktopuses and farting little buddies”.

CGI (computer generated imagery for the noobs) has brought us many delights but there is a dark side to this menace. One needs only to look as far as Jar Jar Binks as proof that this technology is a threat to the entire galaxy. Original Star Wars trilogy: no CGI, good guys win. Prequel trilogy: butt loads of CGI, bad guys win. Research done by top men has concluded that there is an inverse relationship to the amount of CGI in a movie and it’s overall quality. Who? Top men.

Laugh. Cry. See this show. It will evoke both from you. Unless you’re a machine, then we have this to say to you: 0110001101100111011010010010000001110 01101110101011000110110101101110011 (CGI sucks).
