Portland's 24 Hour Film Race 2011

The 24 Hour Film Race 2011 (www.filmracing.com) will be challenging aspiring filmmakers all over the world to write, shoot, and edit a short film in just 24 hours from April 29-30th. The films premiere in theaters across North America, May 11, 2011 at the historic Hollywood Theater for Portlanders. The top 24 films from the competition will screen in New York on July 16th at a gala screening and awards ceremony.

In the 24 Hour Film Race, filmmaking teams are e-mailed a theme (such as 'revenge' or 'greed')and surprise elements (such as a prop or an action that must be performed in the film) at 7PM PST on Friday, April 29th. The filmmakers then have 24 hours to create an original short film no longer than 4 minutes and upload their finished film to the competition website(www.filmracing.com) by the 7PM PST deadline on Saturday, April 30th. Filmmakers have the option to premiere their film in theaters across North America, including the Hollywood Theater in Portland. The best film in Portland will go on to compete for top prizes, including $4,000 cash, against the other best 24 hour films from around the world.
