A social affair, a learning affair, an illicit affair... with hundreds of books!
BookCycle PDX’s core purpose is to bring free-flowing book access and drop-off points for community use. “Give when you can, take when you want.” Our simple mantra, Bringing literacy and the love of bibliophilia to your local hangouts one bookcase at a time, says it all. At the baseline, this means we offer a bookcase to a local business and a “starter set” of books all stamped with our logo.
Come to our reader of the pack's home for a night of being surrounded by BCPDX's offerings and probably a couple cats.
There will be opportunity aplenty to meet fellow bibliophiles (whom likely many of you probably know already) over some simple hors d'śuvre and beverages.
Stations will be set up for those interested in participating in the work party aspect (stamping books and formatting authors and titles into our Master List) as well as a fully set up prototype bookcase as you might see it on-location for those of you with a bookcase-size space available at your venue.
Yes, there will be some alcohol and silliness, but this is definitely a kid-friendly event if you wish to bring the wee ones.
