Normally Cort & Fatboy show movies at the Bagdad Theater. Thread some film through a projector, turn a big lightbulb on - Boom. Magic. But Friday, September 2nd? That's not what's happening. They're taking the contents of your childhood, and we're tipping that on its side, spilling it into the projector, and we're gonna splash that all over the screen in all its vivid, hand-painted, goofy glory.
They're not just showing a movie. We're showing "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."
You will get to visit Toontown the way it was meant to be seen. This isn't the slightly sanitized edit released to home video. This is the uncut original in 35mm, filling the Bagdad's screen with Bob Zemeckis' genius, Bob Hoskins' grumpiness, Roger's ridiculousness and Jessica's allure, with Bugs, Mickey, Donald, Daffy, Betty Boop, Droopy Dog and about a hundred other classic cartoons sharing the screen for the first and likely only time together.
The doors will open at 10pm, and at 10:30, pre-show entertainment will start, and at 11pm, we'll start playing this funny/scary/noirish/romantic little miracle of a movie that, by all rights, probably shouldn't even exist, much less be the classic that it is.
In addition, Stumptown Comics Fest founder and artist, Indigo Kelleigh, will be in attendance to sell digital prints of his poster design, created specifically for this screening.
