Ocean Art Opening by Liz Conley
Come to Sequential Art Gallery's First Thursday for the opening reception of Liz Conley's "Ocean". Conley will be on hand to talk to guests throughout the night! The evening will also be livestreamed.
Conley's “Ocean” is a print-based visual retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid. Conley’s work is strongly influenced by water, the darker aspects of fairy tales, and the dark path that even the most well intentioned can turn down all too easily. The story will be featured in Couscous Collective's upcoming anthology "Ocean".
Formerly a Portland native, Liz Conley moved to San Francisco to attend the Academy of Art University, graduating with a degree in Fine Art Printmaking. She assisted the prestigious Arion Press in the production of Don Quioxte and I Love My Love, has been published in The Grove Review, and her bookarts work is currently represented by 23 Sandy Gallery here in Portland. She makes comics with her friends at the San Francisco-based Couscous Collective, with whom she self-publishes her work.
